Testing Multi-Agency Response - September 18, 2018 - Fort Saskatchewan
September 18, 2018 Fort Saskatchewan: The region’s mutual aid organization, Northeast Region Community Awareness Emergency Response (NRCAER) announces that an emergency response training exercise is being hosted at Chemtrade Logistics in Fort Saskatchewan in the morning.
On Tuesday, September 18th NRCAER members and partners will be testing our multi-agency emergency response plan built by local municipal and industrial responders.
People in the area may notice emergency vehicles and responders throughout the day. We appreciate the community’s understanding and support of this exercise.
Thanks to Chemtrade Logistics for being our host location and all our members and partners for their participation.
"Exercises provide the opportunity for our members and partners to test and continuously improve response protocols," says Brenda Gheran, NRCAER Executive Director. "Extensive effort is put into designing these simulations and we appreciate the participation of our members from planning through to exercise completion." In addition to Chemtrade Logistics, responders from Fort Saskatchewan Fire Department, RCMP, Agrium and Dow will be involved in the field response. A number of partner agencies and regulators will observe the exercise.
Information will be posted to the region’s UPDATEline at 1-866-653-9959.
NRCAER is a mutual aid emergency response association that was formed in 1991. Members include emergency management professionals from local industry and municipalities. In its 25-year history, the group has focused on enhancing safety through multi-agency training and sharing best practices for emergency management and response in the area known as Alberta’s industrial heartland.
